Woman with umbrella standing in Rain on michigan ave, chicago,IL shot on kodak portra400 film

I have to confess, shooting in the rain is one of my least fun things to do, however I’m always a fan of how photos look when taken in the rain. Awhile back I was working on a slow shutter 35mm camera, a pentax spotmatic, when I realized I had a fresh roll of Kodak Portra 400 film rolling around the bottom of my bag. I quickly turned off the computer, and headed out into the rain, which was letting up around the Michigan ave. bridge, and the Tribune tower in downtown Chicago.

In any event – a pleasant surprise when I got these back from CSW Film Systems, my favorite processor in Chicago. A soft bit of vivid colors really stood out against the grey tones present around downtown that day.

More to follow, but enjoy and let me know if you have any thoughts on Kodak’s lovely color palate with Portra400.

Thanks!
